Woodsure is the UK's new woodfuel quality assurance standard.

This not-for-profit scheme provides a straightforward, thorough procedure for assessing the quality of woodfuel supplied for use in biomass boilers.

Woodsure’s quality testing ensures that the producer and the supplier know how to make or supply fuel that will be right for your boiler.

Our simple, practical approach to accreditation and our stringent quality evaluation regime means that woodfuel production costs can be kept down but quality improves. Compliance with recognised fuel quality standards no longer has to mean higher prices for the consumer.

Woodsure is committed to facilitating a vibrant, sustainable woodfuel supply infrastructure that will play a part in encouraging the uptake of renewable energy initiatives.

The Woodsure scheme is supported by the UK Forestry Commission.

Biomass boilers need high quality woodfuel
A reliable source of correctly-specified woodfuel is vital to the efficient, trouble-free operation of a biomass boiler. The majority of boiler problems arise from poor quality fuel of the wrong specification.

Woodfuel consumers can be confident that a Woodsure Accredited fuel supply will optimise performance from their appliance.

   Quality accreditation for woodfuel producers
Demand for quality woodfuel is increasing steadily with the take-up of biomass boilers, encouraged by the introduction of the Renewable Heat Incentive, Carbon Reduction Commitment and rising fossil fuel prices. This emerging market presents woodfuel producers with many opportunities.

Woodsure Accreditation is the quality mark that recognises the responsible, reliable woodfuel producers that consumers can trust.

Until now, quality certification schemes for the wood fuel producer have been lengthy, complex and prohibitively expensive. This has either deterred producers from seeking accreditation or been loaded on to the cost of fuel supplied by those who have.

Now, Woodsure offers a producer accreditation scheme that is currently FREE until 2013.
